Bomb / Explosive Detector Dogs.

The Bomb Detector Dogs are trained on all commercial, military explosives etc. The details of which are available on request. Due to the sensitive nature of training and developing these explosive detector dogs, it is felt that further information should not be available on this open forum.

Metro K9 Undertake to provide each bomb detection dog at this level with the Initial Course, which is supported with a Manual, which covers a number of topics from the initial bonding period through Canine first aid and recommended equipment for handling your bomb detection dog. Once the initial course has been completed successfully our trainers provide a detailed written course review, to aid in planning future in-service training to maintain the standard of your new bomb detection team.

We at Metro K9 having been operational handlers, and take this business seriously, our trainers are always available to provide assistance and advice to handlers and supervisors of drug and bomb detection dogs.

Narcotic Detector Dogs.

Narcotic Detector Dogs are available as either a 'passive' or 'aggressive' indicator, depending on the intended deployment. We are able to offer assistance and advice in this respect prior to the decision being made on the choice of indication required from your drug detector dog.

Narcotic Detector Dogs are offered with the following narcotic odours:

  • Marijuana
  • Heroin
  • Amphetamine/Methamphetamine
  • Cocaine (Both Crack and Powder)

Firearms detection is offered as an additional odour at no additional cost for those agencies that feel this may be of benefit operationally.
